Earlier in the week, Sneaker Prophet, a photographer and sneaker enthusiast on Instagram, uploaded a picture of an unseen Adidas NMD City Sock collaboration between calligrapher, MIKITYPE and Adidas.
MIKITYPE is a Tokyo, Japan based calligrapher, age 24, who takes an innovative approach in typology. He studied calligraphy and typology at Design Informatics at the Musashino Art University in Tokyo and graduated in 2015.
Their creation, the Adidas NMD City Sock features a core black primeknit upper and white boost midsole in addition to MIKITYPE’s white calligraphy work in japanese (katana) featured on the EVA inserts, the insoles, the insteps and the heel tabs of the shoe. MIKITYPE’s artwork brings extra life to one of Adidas’ flagship models which will prove to be a hefty release.
A release date hasn’t been announced by Adidas, yet it is gradually building greater anticipation among sneakerheads and collectors alike.
Stay tuned for updates on this release.
