In creation memoir Shoe Dog, Phil Knight shares many of his experiences and stories of Nike’s inception and early beginnings. In remembering what could’ve been, Nike is set to release a trio of sneakers to highlight the company’s legendary history.
The upcoming ‘Shoe Dog Pack’ features Nike’s first running shoe ever, the Nike Cortez. Equipped with alternatively-designed logos, the pack immortalizes the Swoosh brand’s decision between naming themselves Nike, Falcon, or Dimension Six. Specifically, the pack consists of Carolyn Davidson’s first ever slim Swoosh design, the Dimension Six moon logo, and the Falcon-inspired peregrine logo. Dressed in red, white, and blue, the Cortez will be armored in a majority of leather throughout.
With Nike being what we know now, it’d be hard to think of the sneaker giant as named anything other than what it is now. The ‘Shoe Dog Pack’ will release 7/24 at 10am, with each pair retailing at $120. Be sure to checkout images of the three Cortez’s below and let us know what you think.
