“Stranger Things” fans have been anticipating the newest season since the end of the second. With new episodes upon us, the show has teamed up with Nike to give fans a small taste of whats to come.
The anticipated third season of “Stranger Things” is set to premier on July 4th. The newest season will be set in Hawkins, Indiana during the Summer of 1985. Trailers tease change on the horizon for protagonists while promo posters emphasize “One Summer Can Change Everything”. Being rumored as early last month, Nike and “Stranger Things” have finally debuted their collaboration, which features signature silhouettes from the 1980’s such as the Cortez, Blazer, and Tailwinds.
With the first drop releasing June 27th, the two collaborators re-design the classic models whilst referencing Hawkins High. School spirit is evident as hues of green and orange are mixed in combination with the school’s Tiger mascot. Alongside the sneakers, physical education inspired pieces including sweat suits and tee’s will be releasing on the Nike web store.
After the initial drop, a second release dubbed the “OG Pack” will follow. With this release, the silhouettes celebrate US Independence Day with decorations of red, white, and blue throughout, hinting at the season’s setting during the Summer of 1985. The sneaker demonstrate attention to detail with firework-designed sock linings and year marker on the heels. The second “Stranger Things” drop will also include similarly inspired pieces releasing alongside on July 1st.
Keep an eye out in upcoming episodes, as 1980’s nostalgia seamlessly blends in seamlessly throughout characters’ wardrobes. Both releases will be releasing on Nike’s web store on June 27th and July 1st respectively.
